Pondering was founded by Karen Healy in 2014 – initially a vehicle for Karen’s UK-based videography business, the company expanded with the addition of writer-director Michael Healy (Karen’s brother) later that year. Pondering then began outputting its own original work, attracting tens of thousands of views on YouTube and finding success at web and comedy festivals.
In 2015, producer Richard Wade joined the team to begin work on Pondering’s debut cinematic short, Would You Like Some Toast (2016). Turned over on a tight schedule, Toast has just begun its festival run, most recently being accepted into the New York State International Film Festival.
This summer, Pondering finalised a deal with investment company Avaltyc Limited to support our next stage of development. With offices now open Stillorgan and a growing team of industry professionals backing them up, Pondering is working to bring its brand of fresh, narrative-focused comedy to ever more ambitious projects.
Pondering just completed a round of fundraising for its next project, attracting the support of a wide range of private investors and film enthusiasts. The company’s long-term goal is to structure, fund, administrate and deliver debut feature-length project through a combination of public and private backing.
